Conversations are retained raw for 365 days, then the durable facts are distilled into the Brain and the raw transcript is archived.

What happens at expiry
- Pre-expiry the drawer shows a “Keep / +90d” banner so conversations you care about are preserved explicitly.
- At expiry, durable facts are extracted by the LLM distiller and embedded into the Brain as knowledge items with source_type “conversation.”
- You can mark any conversation “Remember forever” or forget individual messages in the Copilot drawer.
